My name is Sarah Smits, I am a qualified Kinesiologist offering Kinergetics Kinesiology treatments from my practice at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, E8.
What is Kinergetics Kinesiology:
Kinergetics, founded by Philip Rafferty is a branch of Kinesiology which accesses the causes of imbalances in the body to facilitate profound change. It is a non-invasive holistic therapy using muscle monitoring to communicate with the body. Kinergetics Kinesiology aims to bring balance to the body, mind and energy systems.
I’m a teacher specialising in working with children with SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs), so my calling to help people has been ingrained in me for a long time. I was first introduced to Kinesiology when a colleague in a school spoke about a practitioner, she visited on a yearly basis for a ‘tune up’. She shared a story with me about her son, he had been experiencing severe nightmares and she didn’t know how to support him.
She was surprised to discover the nightmares were caused by an experience from when he was baby. Following the balance, the nightmares stopped. She also mentioned recommending Kinergetics to the parents of a four-year-old student with special needs who was constantly running off, his parents were concerned he would run onto the road. Following a session using his mother as a surrogate, the child was no longer in fight flight and resumed running in an age appropriate way.
I was certainly intrigued!
My first session was life changing in many ways. I learnt how my body had stored experiences in my life -even though they were experiences I thought I’d forgotten about. I knew that this was the therapy for me. I began the journey to train as a Kinergetics Kinesiologist, I am currently studying to be an Integrative Art Psychotherapist with the long term goal being that I will be able to combine both Kinergertics and Psychotherapy.
What to expect in a Kinergetics Kinesiology session:
The session begins with a conversation about what the client would like to work on. This can include physical or emotional symptoms. The session takes place with the client laying fully clothed on a massage table on their back. Using muscle testing to communicate with the body, a variety of corrections are made. Throughout the session, there is an ongoing dialogue to access further information. Most clients find the experience quite relaxing and I personally feel ‘lighter’ following a treatment.
I am fully insured and trained in the following:
- Kinergetics Kinesiology
- RESET (Releasing tension in the TMJ)
- BNT (Balancing Nutrition and Toxicity)
What can Kinesiology help with:
Kinesiology can help with a wide range of physical and emotional imbalances. Such as: feeling stressed or overwhelmed, problems with movement, chronic pain, trauma, TMJ, allergies or candida imbalance. I am also able to work on specific physical body systems such as digestion in addition to more spiritual chakra and light body systems.
