Joseph Dweck:
Trainee Psychotherapist (UKCP student member)
My name is Joseph Dweck, I am a trainee psychotherapist working online for the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston and Dalston, Hackney, London E8.
I offer weekly one-to-one online sessions with adults.
I’m currently training for an MA in Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent’s University London. I am also a student member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and adhere to its guidelines.
Life can bring us many challenges and often we might come to a decision that it would be beneficial to speak with someone other than our friends or family.
I am 48 years old and I have personally benefitted from being able to have a skilled person to speak with in a private and non-judgmental space. I have gained from the genuine, trusting relationship I have had with my therapists over the years. I hope to offer the same to you in our sessions.
My goal is to help with navigating the situations in life that have brought you here at a pace that you find comfortable.
Together we will explore your feelings and emotions, behaviour, and self-awareness to gain a better understanding of yourself.
I will work with you to discover more about your circumstance, your origins, and how you might wish to live in the future. All of this we do in a caring and supportive way that is safe and confidential.
My aim is to listen to you and to work together with you to help you find a state of well-being in your life.
I work integratively, which means I draw from a wide range of theories and techniques including psychodynamic, existential, and humanistic. This is because I believe that human beings are complex and that there is no single approach that works for everyone.
I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. I also believe that with all of our wonderful complexity, we must have the space and care to gradually discover more about our true selves, our relationships with others, and our place in the world.
I can help with a range of short and long-term issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, bereavement, addiction, codependency, and low self-esteem.
My interest in therapy comes from my interest in people and the challenges life brings us. I have also spent many years listening to and counselling people in a pastoral manner as a communal rabbi. And although I do not bring religion into our sessions, I celebrate humanity’s diversity and I am open and welcoming of all people.
I also bring 25 years experience of listening to and supporting a wide range of life experiences from people of all ages and backgrounds.
If you think I might be helpful to you, please do get in touch and I look forward to working with you.
