  A high quality shear that makes fantastic smooth cuts with it's sharp blade. It has a spring-loaded action which will automatically open the blades after each cut. Made of quality high carbon steel, the cutting edges are very sharp & cut well. Originally designed for shearing sheep & animals, this shear also works great for outdoor & garden work activities such as hedge shearing, trimming grass, onion harvesting, & other outdoor work. Made in Japan.

     High carbon steel is tougher & harder than stainless steels, making it ideal & desirable for applications where durability is required & where frequent regrinding is needed. Carbon steels are more durable & have razor-sharp edges, & is easy to re-sharpen as well when the need arises.

     Since carbon steel has superior cutting qualities due to it's hardness & toughness, it's resistance to corrosion caused by moisture is low as a result. Therefore, it is important to try and keep your carbon steel blades away from moist or damp environments as much as possible. It is also a good idea to occasionally wipe the blade with a light oil, such as mineral oil from time to time. It is also a good idea to wipe the blade dry after each use.
