It uses an internal thermostat to keep the temperature at a desirable 102 when the pet lies upon the heated pad; and will remain 10-15 degrees above ambient air temperature when your pet is not on the bed. Soft PVC protects from water and a free removable, washable cover is included for easy care. The K&H Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Dog and Cat Beds are recommended for Indoor or outdoor use. This heated dog mat/heated cat mat has been tested and certified by MET Labs to exceed USA/CA electrical safety standards. Note: This is a soft bed that is NOT recommended for destructive dogs. If you have a pet that chews or is destructive, we suggest the rugged. Remove the cover from the bed. Machine wash cover only, separately. Mild detergents, no bleach. Cold water, gentle cycle. Air or line dry. Dry completely before reassembly. Heated pad can be wiped with damp cloth, allow to dry completely before use.
