Milkback is a unique variant of Porcellio laevis, a sizable and widespread isopod species. Known for their substantial appetite, these isopods need a protein-rich diet to thrive; insufficient protein may lead to cannibalistic behavior. Their hunger makes them excellent candidates for a clean-up crew in bioactive setups. However, due to their larger size and slower movement, they can be vulnerable to predation by tank inhabitants, so maintaining a separate thriving colony for replenishing your tank is advised.
