Limited red colored vinyl LP pressing. Todd Rundgren has always been on the cutting edge of music. In or out of fashion, ahead of his time, or right in the pocket, his brand of music has amazed audiences now for almost six decades. In that time span, he has gone on to produce and records many albums on other stellar artists like Grand Funk Railroad, Badfinger, Cheap Trick, Meat Loaf, XTC, New York Dolls and many others, whereby his production skills were second to none, and brought about some very successful albums for his many of his friends. Which leads us to (Re) Production... This 2011 venture put him back in the studio, and similar in ways to his 1976 hit album "Faithful", he went back to the studio and "re-produced" his own unique takes on songs that he originally produced, and delivered an incredible album for his faithful fans. Kicking things off, the album deep dives into the wonderous world of The Tubes with a stellar Rundgren rendition of "Prime Time", as the party continues with more incredible fare like his take on Patti Smith's "Dancing Barefoot" and a brilliant reading of Meat Loaf's smash hit "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" The Psychedelic Furs hit "Love My Way" captures a stunning electronica studio style, while Badfinger's stellar "Take It All" from "Straight Up" truly gets a classic Todd Rundgren ballad reading, making this one of the key tracks on the Lp. More greats like Cheap Trick's "I Can't Take It", Hall and Oates "Is It A Star" and fare like The New York Dolls "Personality Crisis" and "Tell Me Your Dreams" by Chris Eaton, help formulate a very fine album and a magical listen from beginning to end. Friday Music is very pleased to celebrate the 15th Birthday of Todd Rundgren's classic "(Re) Production". Produced by Todd Rundgren and Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso (Todd Rundgren/Utopia/Meat Loaf).
