Milena Georgieva Integrative Therapist and Coach London E8Milena Georgieva:

Integrative Therapist and Coach (MBACP)

Hi, my name is Milena Georgieva and I am a qualified integrative therapist and coach working at HQ Therapy Rooms, in Dalston, Hackney, London E8.

Life is full of difficult transitions, setbacks, anxiety, uncertainty about the future, challenging decisions, and unhelpful habits & response patterns that prevent us from being fulfilled and happy.

If you feel that you’re struggling and overwhelmed and that your well-being is impacted negatively, or you just want to have somewhere confidential to explore matters you feel are important, therapy is a good option.

In our sessions, we can explore your emotions, improve your understanding of what is driving some of your issues, such as their origins & maintenance mechanisms, and find out how to manage better and implement tangible changes.

My approach:
I am an integrative therapist and coach trained in Personal Consultancy. This framework equips me with a toolkit and attitude to therapy that is holistic and flexible – I look at the person as a whole and the full set of circumstances and experiences that created a particular problem.

This means that we explore matters at your own pace with space for in-depth exploration of your thoughts, motivations, feelings and past, whilst we also leave some room for pragmatic considerations related to implementing tangible changes in your life and figuring out solutions if you so desire.

Qualifications:
I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology (BSc) from Oxford Brookes University and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London.

My academic background in psychology and natural sciences grounds my understanding of mental health issues and their aetiology in theory and empirical research.

In practice, this means that I have the tool kit and mindset to consult with evidence-based techniques and published scientific literature when dealing with complex or chronic problems if you want more structure in our sessions or simply if you are at a loss and feel stuck.

On the other hand, lived experience has helped me appreciate how unique each client’s story is and taught me to listen carefully and with an open mind to their personal story and tailor my approach according to their needs and specific circumstances.

Having spent a long time in higher education settings, either studying or working with young people, I appreciate the unique demands placed on young adults, who are trying to figure out their way in a complex and competitive environment.

Fees:
I offer an initial free consultation lasting approximately 20 minutes. This is an opportunity for us to find out if this is right for you.

Regular sessions are charged at £55/per session.

I also offer a number of reduced-rate counselling spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.

It feels good to be listened to and to know that someone cares about you and wants to help. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and can build a trusting relationship to help you make positive changes in your life.
