Rebecca Teague:
Honorary Psychotherapist (BACP student member, HCPC (Occupational Therapy), HKOTA)
My name is Rebecca Teague and I am an Honorary Psychotherapist at HQ Therapy. I am currently seeing clients face to face from my practice at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8, offering both short and longer-term therapy.
My therapeutic background began within Occupational Therapy (OT), qualifying and then working in Wales and Hong Kong as a registered OT within paediatric care for children, adolescents, and Women’s empowerment through hosting unique Expressive Art Therapy circles.
Through my work as an OT, I have specialised in Sensory Integration and Processing and Therapeutic Listening with individuals with special needs.
While working in the UK, I gained experience working in both private and public healthcare sectors in fields such as community mental health, forensic mental health hospitals and neuro-rehabilitation.
Through a desire to offer a holistic approach to my clients, I furthered my therapeutic practice by studying alternative body-mind therapies, such as Ayurveda and Energy-work, and finally deepening my understanding of psychotherapy and counselling.
I have since attained a PgC in Psychodynamic and Humanistic Counselling and I am currently finishing my MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University in London.
Over the years, I have worked individually with clients, while also planning and holding group therapy sessions with children, adolescents and adults in long-term and short-term care.
I am deeply inspired to be part of the journeys people take toward a deeper understanding of themselves, their interpersonal relationships and the world around them.
My therapeutic experiences have ignited a personal passion to bridge the gap between psychotherapy and other practices of well-being, such as art, ayurveda, meditation and permaculture, all of which inspire my practice as a therapist.
I am a student associate of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Hong Kong Occupational Therapy Association (HKOTA).
