My name is Marie Smith and I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist based at HQ Therapy Rooms, Haggerston, Hackney, E8. I graduated with an MSc in integrative Psychotherapy with the Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University. I am registered with UKCP. I have been a health care professional in the NHS since 1992.
I started my training in counselling and psychotherapy in 2007 and have been working with clients since 2008. The people I have been privileged to work with have come with many different concerns such as: bereavement, coping with cancer, poor health, anxiety, depression, getting to grips with mental health issues, relationship problems, confidence, low self-esteem, sexuality, cultural issues, spiritual concerns, infertility and isolation.
People usually come to counselling and psychotherapy when they are struggling with a specific issue or if life itself is causing them worry and strife. Psychotherapy can be a powerful vehicle for change, growth and development. It can also be an opportunity to create a space together to facilitate the repairing of old wounds, the learning of how to feel better and live more authentically.
Healing can occur through being able to share your story with another human being, without being judged, with the possibility of gaining a different perspective.
It can be difficult to ask for help, it can be very hard to speak about your problems. I would like to make this a little easier on you. You will be met with kindness and understanding, non-judgement, in a confidential safe space that we will create together.
I will listen to you with curiosity and interest and between us, we will come to an understanding of your situation.
