My name is Matthew Howard-Jones, I am an Occupational & Mental Health Therapist working at HQ Therapy Rooms in Hackney, London E8.
If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, unable to make a life decision or trapped in negative thoughts I can help you. I specialise in enabling people to take action, change behaviour, and lead a more fulfilling life.
Whether this is the first time you have decided to talk to someone or you have attended therapy before, I offer a supportive and collaborative space where we can explore the issues you are presently dealing with and together make a goal-orientated plan for change and moving forward.
I’m an experienced practitioner of talking therapies, working in the NHS for over 20 years. I qualified as an Occupational Therapist specialising in mental health in 1999 and have worked as a mental health therapist in various NHS settings including acute wards, community teams, and first point of contact psychological therapy services.
I have worked with people experiencing panic and anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders, work-related issues and stress, insomnia, chronic pain, psychosis, and relationship difficulties.
For the last 8 years, I have been working in a national specialist service at St Thomas Hospital delivering individual and group-based psychological treatment using ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) to adults who have long term pain and associated mental health difficulties such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
I am experienced with psychological models of treatment including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as the use of mindfulness practice. We will work together to formulate a plan which meets your unique set of needs and circumstances.
I’m of the firm belief that an open mind, a collaborative space, and the desire for change can bring about remarkable results and happier lives.
If you think we could work together, please get in touch below for an initial consultation. I look forward to meeting you.
