My name is Richard Jones and I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist based at HQ Therapy Rooms in Dalston, Hackney, London E8.
It can feel daunting to start addressing things that are painful and to open a space for parts of you that don’t often get expressed.
I provide a receptive and safe environment in which we can build a strong working relationship of trust. Our sessions are led by you and supported by me, together we foster a deeper awareness and clarity in order to facilitate meaningful change.
During our counselling sessions I hold an awareness of how we relate together and explore how elements of this might represent set beliefs and patterns in your life. Additionally, I facilitate a focus on bodily reactions and sensations in order to work towards more detailed levels of self-expression.
I also believe in the therapeutic space as a secure testing-ground in which you can practice and experience the possibility of breaking-out of set patterns of behaviour and choose the energy you want to live with.
I have over ten years experience in mental health, having worked in: schools, prisons, supported accommodation for people with severe mental health diagnoses and in higher education.I have also worked as a therapist in a hospice and as part of a low cost therapy service in West London.
I am experienced helping people with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties including: abuse, addictions, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, gender and identity issues, low self-esteem, relationship problems, work related stress, sexuality and sexual problems. I take an anti-discriminatory LGBTQ+ affirmative stance, and I am open to difference in all its forms.

You can contact me via phone or email below, from there we would arrange an initial consultation in which we can discuss what brings you to therapy and what your aims might be. There are no obligations to our first meeting, it provides a chance to see if our dynamic feels like a good fit and is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have.
