My name is Rowenna Clifford and I am a qualified Cognitive Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Coach based at HQ Therapy Rooms in Hackney, London, E8. I use these transformational tools to help people identify and overcome life-limiting factors which may be holding them back from living the life they want to lead and create a more peaceful life with true meaning.

We all get a little stuck sometimes and we often don’t know how our experiences, memories, and beliefs have lead us to a state of disillusionment, low self-worth, fear or anxiety, which can in turn fuel all sorts of behaviours and addictions.

It’s hard to see the bigger picture when we’re caught up in a world of stress and despair. So it can be helpful to know that there is someone there to help you unpack your problems in a safe and non-judgemental way, and help you realign yourself with more positive ways of being and seeing the world. I believe that through reframing our “problems” and developing self-compassion, it is possible to rise from the ashes of any challenging state or situation and rebuild a life of wholeness with non-judgment and acceptance at its core.

My Approach:
Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a solution-focused approach to therapy where we work together to help you create a more positive model of the world and your place in it, and transform limiting beliefs, behaviours, memories and experiences.

It is different from traditional hypnotherapy in that it is a two-way process where you’ll be fully engaged, using your imagination with guidance and support to help you reframe memories, your beliefs about yourself and the world.

I create a bespoke treatment plan which includes personalised hypnosis and audios to help you move towards your desired state, and I use a range of integrative techniques to help you do this in a way which works for you. These techniques include a range of traditional and modern therapeutic approaches based in Evolutionary Psychology, NLP, CBT, and Positive Psychology, along with modern and traditional Hypnotherapy and forward-thinking techniques such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing).

I also combine Mindfulness Coaching, to help you deepen your connection to yourself and others around you, bring a more mindful approach to stressful situations and find more peace and contentment in life.

Background and Experience:
I came to my training in Cognitive Hypnotherapy after having worked in education for 10 years, when I realised that the rise in stress and anxiety was continuing and the help and support that I could provide as a teacher was becoming more and more limited with the increase on teacher workload each year.

I now help people to overcome the life-limiting impact of these and many other issues holding them back, as well as incorporating my experience and training in mindfulness to help people create more balanced lives. I have experience of helping people free themselves of anxiety and depression, work-related stress, develop self-confidence, overcome fears (such as public speaking and phobias), and free themselves from habits and addictions.

I charge £120 per session. The first session lasts 2 hours and subsequent sessions last 1.5 hours. I also offer 2 heavily subsidised places every 8-10 weeks for people on benefits, and discounts for people on low incomes. Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to discuss this further.
