Samantha Hongsubchat (MBACP, MBPS):
Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Hello, my name is Samantha Hongsubchat (Sam). I practice as an Integrative relational therapist working with adults (18+) for both short term and long term therapy in private practice at HQ Therapy Rooms in Hackney, London E8.
There are times in our lives when we could all benefit from some support. Meeting life challenges, especially in times of change or uncertainty, can feel easier with help.
I create a safe, comfortable and confidential space where you can begin to explore and make sense of your emotional experiences. I bring warmth, understanding and a non-judgemental attitude. I aim to work in both a creative and pragmatic way.
I work from the position that each person, story and set of concerns is unique and so there is no one model that fits all. I adapt my way of working to suit your needs drawing on a range of approaches and theories including humanistic, psychodynamic, self-psychology and mindfulness. Fundamentally though, I consider the relationship that both therapist and client build and create together to lie at the heart of healing and change. As a relational therapist, I pay attention to the developing therapeutic relationship, encouraging open and honest communication about the relationship as it develops.
I have several years of experience working therapeutically with clients in various settings including NHS, charities, academic institutions, and with people of all ages. I work with people from a range of cultures and diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of emotional and psychological issues including anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, trauma, identity issues, cultural issues, bereavement, loss, work-related problems, relationship/ family issues, self development, self-esteem, parental difficulties, pregnancy/ postnatal problems and more.
Through in-depth conversation with another person and the time and space to be with and share what is troubling you, I believe that therapy can be a creative, empowering and liberating process and a journey of self-discovery.
Training and qualifications:
I have trained extensively in Psychology and Psychotherapy over the last ten years and have several years of experience working as a therapist/counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Psychological Society as a graduate member (Counselling Psychology Division) and hold professional registration with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy as a Counsellor in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling. I am also currently working on a professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute in West London.
Fees and availability
I currently have spaces available for private clients at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston or Dalston. I charge £60 per session.
If you feel counselling would be helpful for you, then feel free to contact me (below) for an initial session. We will have the opportunity to talk about some of the issues bothering you, consider how therapy might work for you and see how we might work together.
