Stéphane Mayoux (MBACP):
My name is Stéphane Mayoux and I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist based at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8 4DE.
Our lives can sometimes feel overwhelming. Therapy is a time and a space to be heard, to build awareness, strength and spontaneity.
The conversations between client and therapist are unique and precious. Beyond techniques, tools and training, research shows that a successful therapy tends to be based on a relationship, on trust, collaboration and true listening.
As a psychotherapist, I am inviting you to explore your own story, to find your own words, in the presence of a reflective and attentive fellow traveler.
My Training and Approach
I am a qualified and accredited psychotherapist, a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) and hold an MSc (Masters of Sciences). I am a registered member of one of the UK’s leading professional bodies, BACP. I abide by their code of ethics. I have trained in Transactional Analysis at the Metanoia Institute in West London.
My training is in relational Transactional Analysis (TA). It is a flexible approach that integrates different schools of psychotherapy. It finds its origins in psychoanalysis and is rooted in a humanist philosophy. As a TA counsellor, I believe in our shared humanity, whatever our histories, perspectives and cultures. I believe there is profound value in all of us.
I am used to working with a wide range of emotions, thoughts and behaviours. Some of my clients have gone through traumatic events. At all times, I keep a non-judgemental stance, aiming to support you in your search for meaning, strength and relations. I have been working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse at OneInFour in South and North London, and with refugees and asylum seekers at the Multi-Ethnic Counselling Service in Waterloo. I have worked both in English and in French, with clients from diverse countries, ethnicities and cultures.
My Sessions and Fees
If you feel the time has come to explore your own self, feel free to get in touch with me. Our first session will be about finding out whether we both believe can work together.
We will try and establish a first sense of what you are hoping to achieve, of what you may want to understand or change.
You will then decide whether you would like to carry on. If so, we can contract for a limited number of sessions, or make our work open ended. We will review progress as we go along.
My fees are £80 per 50-minute session.
