Vanessa Benson (MBACP):
My name is Vanessa Benson and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor; my practice is based at HQ Therapy Rooms in Hackney, London E8. I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space to explore your concerns.
We may all at times face challenges which, for varied reasons, can have a disruptive impact on our lives. This may be a time when you are struggling with some personal challenges and want to reflect on how to move forward. You may have feelings of being overwhelmed, low self-esteem or loneliness.
You may be going through difficulties in relationships, unable to understand your feelings, or just managing life but wanting more. Perhaps you are struggling with your identity or sexuality or having feelings that you don’t quite belong. Talking to someone outside your usual circle of friends and family in confidence can help us make sense of thoughts, feelings & situations that bring us anxiety or distress, allowing new perspectives to emerge, and the freedom to be more connected to our vitality and our resourcefulness.
I believe the collaborative therapeutic relationship can be key to creating meaningful change. I aim to provide a non-judgmental relationship where you can be fully heard. I have a deep respect for individuality and personal background. I see our work together as a joint creative process where we explore your experiences and help you find a better understanding of you and the personal difficulties you bring.
My aim is for us to be curious together about your difficulties and your aspirations. I offer individual therapy to adults of all backgrounds, genders and sexual orientations and am mindful of the beliefs and values you hold.
As an Integrative therapist, I draw upon different theories including person-centered and psychodynamic, tailoring my approach to suit your needs. I may at times suggest we work with art materials.
The issues I work with include:
Self-Esteem/Depression/Loneliness/Motivation/Anxiety & Stress/Life Transitions/Bereavement/Sexuality and Sexual identity/Diversity and Cultural Issues of Identity and belonging/Creative blocks/ Feeling stuck with unhelpful patterns of behavior.
Please contact me below by email or by phone. I begin by suggesting an initial meeting where we can start our conversation about what is troubling you and what you are hoping to gain from therapy. From there we can decide if we are a good fit. I offer short and long term therapy.
£60 for assessments and ongoing therapy sessions (50 minutes)
