Vedika Shewakramani:
Counsellor & Psychotherapist (MBACP)
I’m Vedika Shewakramani, a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist working with HQ Therapy at their rooms in Dalston and Haggerston, London E8.
Having had a strong inclination to connect with and help those around me since I was very young, I learned quite early that the field of mental health is where I belong.
My desire to understand people has translated into my approach as a Humanistic counsellor, wherein I hold the belief that each of my clients is unique and so my work with each of my clients is tailor-made to suit what they bring to our sessions.
I also draw from Positive Psychology and Mindfulness because I believe that the first (and sometimes also the only) step to finding answers is self-awareness, and building this will be an important part of our work together.
I aim to establish a solid therapeutic relationship with my clients, with a focus on trust and unconditional positive regard, which will be at the forefront of the therapeutic process.
Creating a safe space through this relationship, I invite my clients to explore anything they need support with and work collaboratively with me.
While my approach allows my clients to lead the pace and structure of our sessions, I actively participate in the process with you by helping you navigate via questions, reflections, observations, insight, challenges, and in some cases, creative and mindful exercises.
I understand that entering therapy can be quite intimidating and overwhelming.
However, as someone who has previously struggled with her own mental health, I believe that I can offer you the empathy required to support your therapeutic journey.
I’m experienced in working with presenting issues like anxiety, depression, addictions, relationships, low self-esteem, anger, loss and bereavement, burnout, abuse, life changes, trauma, and more.
I work with individual adults (18+) and offer therapy both, online and in person, and in short-term as well as long-term models.
Sessions last 50 minutes long, costing £60 online and £70 in person.
