Rohit Gupta:
Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (BPC, BACP)
Hello and welcome
I am a fully qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist offering a confidential space for you to talk with someone trained at listening to what may be happening for you at a deeper level.
Sessions are generally held in a non-directive way and are a space for us to explore together. Over time, we will seek to understand and find the words to articulate the conflicts, fears and anxieties you perhaps feel within, with the aim of bringing about meaningful and lasting change.
A little about me:
I trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, which is a specialist NHS trust with a focus on training and mental health services and therapies.
I am a full member of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), the leading professional association for the psychoanalytic profession, and adhere to their code of ethics and practice.
I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Prior to being a psychotherapist, I worked for over 20 years in the private, academic and charity sectors. This experience and an interest in culture and society inform my psychotherapeutic understanding of the complex terrain of daily life.
In addition to working in private practice, I am committed to mental health support, being widely accessible to as many people as possible. I also work for a national charity providing support to their front-line workers, and have volunteered for a charity supporting those who feel suicidal.
Starting therapy:
I understand that to start therapy can feel like a big decision, and you may be sitting with mixed feelings. Our first meeting will be an opportunity for us to explore in more detail what brings you to therapy, what you may hope to gain from it, and any further questions you may have about the therapy.
Once we start, each session will last 50 minutes and take place at the same time weekly.
