Brigitta Anderson:
Trainee Humanistic Therapist (UKCP student member)
My name is Brigitta Anderson, I am a trainee humanistic therapist nearing the end of my training, working in the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston and Dalston, Hackney, London E8.
My background is based in the creative world, having worked for 14 years in design and art direction, as well as jewellery design and I am also a qualified reiki practitioner.
I take on a humanistic approach, working to deepen individuals’ understanding of themselves, strengthen self-awareness and autonomy and process their experiences and emotions freely, in a non-judgemental, warm, safe, and empathic space.
I work in a holistic, collaborative, and explorative way, looking at the past, present, future, mind, and body, as I believe these are all ultimately connected and informing one another.
I believe that as human beings we all deserve respect and dignity and the right to move towards growth, wholeness, and healing.
As a therapist, I meet the client seeking to understand their story and where their wounds stem from, rather than suppressing symptoms or judging behaviours.
Autonomy, relationship with self and others, spirituality, creativity, purpose, intentionality, intuition, and responsibility are all important values for me when working with a client.
I have worked with clients with a range of presenting challenges, including relationship/relational struggles, identity, sex, sexuality, gender identity, sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, body/self-image, loss, and grief.
