Sabrin Omer-Hadassah:
Trainee Psychodynamic Psychotherapist (BACP student member)
My name is Sabrin Omer-Hadassah, I’m a trainee psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults (18+) in the low-cost therapy service at HQ therapy rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, E8 on Sundays from 4-7pm.
About me:
I am currently training on the Birkbeck, University of London psychodynamic counselling and therapy course. This academic foundation provides me with knowledge of how one’s history, early relationships and experiences shape one’s thoughts, behaviour and emotions.
Alongside my studies, I have previous experience counselling in the NHS and low-cost organisations, supporting individuals dealing with various challenges, including relationship breakdown, postnatal depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and self-harm.
Prior to my studies, I volunteered at various charities working with individuals who have experienced domestic violence, abuse and sexual assault.
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can explore your reasons for seeking out counselling at your own pace. I am a student member of the BACP governing body and adhere to their ethical framework.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy:
The psychodynamic approach encompasses examining one’s history and early relationships, thinking about emotional difficulties together, exploring various aspects of one’s life and reflecting on major life experiences to uncover deep-rooted patterns of thought, emotions and behaviours.
Additionally, the psychodynamic approach emphasises the impact of one’s childhood on their ways of relating, thinking and behaving, carrying on into their adult life, shaping their current challenges.
By exploring these numerous layers, we can approach emotional challenges at their root and in turn this creates transformation, increased self-awareness and greater insight into one’s own behaviours and thoughts.
Sessions are client-led, meaning there is no fixed topic or agenda of a session, but rather we can explore together whatever is on your mind, and we will aim to make sense of this in a collaborative manner.
