Chantelle Hooley:
Trainee Integrative Therapist (BACP student member)
My name is Chantelle Hooley and I am a trainee therapist working in the low-cost therapy and counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston , Hackney, London E8.
I completely understand that the journey towards starting therapy can be incredibly overwhelming.
Maybe feelings of anxiety, stress, or loneliness have become too much and you are not quite sure where to begin or who might be the right therapist for you.
You may be coming to terms with a difficult trauma you feel you want to work through or perhaps something in your present has triggered old unresolved feelings from the past.
It is very common for complicated feelings to surface and you are not alone.
By making the decision to start therapy, you have already prioritised understanding yourself better, healing, and wanting to take back some control of your life.
I believe in working collaboratively with you on this journey. By meeting you as you are in the here and now, we can develop some insights into your experiences and unearth the tools to help the future you.
My Approach:
I am currently training as an integrative practitioner. This means I draw upon different psychological schools of thought and am able to apply techniques from a variety of approaches to fit your needs. I currently have the most experience practising Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I will be exploring Existential therapeutic methods this year.
As a student member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I abide by their ethical guidelines and ensure that they underpin and inform my practice. In addition to studying for my degree in Counselling, I am also undertaking a Level 3 Diploma in Life Coaching.
Therefore, if required, I can draw upon a variety of holistic or more targeted, goal-oriented processes to enable you to realise a more positive future. Additionally, I also hold a NCFE/CACHE/ level 2 in Counselling skills which I attained at Farnborough College.
How I work:
My practice involves creating a safe, non-judgmental space, where I will bring empathy and compassion to your concerns. I encourage you to be yourself and hope you feel both held and heard in our sessions together.
In our initial meetings, we will get to know each other and begin to think about what parts of your life you would like to explore. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is really important and helps with productivity whilst supporting your growth and well-being.
Having previously worked as a carer for vulnerable adults, I have lots of experience working with people from a range of backgrounds and abilities. I really care about people and how they encounter the world around them and appreciate that an individual’s circumstances will affect how they experience therapy.
My sessions are 50 minutes long and I currently offer face-to-face counselling. If you are interested in working together, feel free to get in touch and we can start with a 15-minute consultation session. I look forward to hearing from you.
