I am a fully qualified and registered MBACP Humanistic Psychotherapist with over 11 years of experience.
I am trained in Person-Centred psychotherapy, Adult and Adolescent psychotherapy at the Institute for Art in Therapy and Education, and Formative Psychology at Spectrum Therapy.
I have completed additional training in couples work with Spectrum Therapy, the Gottman Institute, USA, and Clearmind International.
I am currently seeing clients face-to-face and online on Zoom.
My work with couples is psycho-educational, emotional, and strategy-based.
In couples sessions I work with:
- Developing an understanding of the underlying emotional issues
- Ways to deal with conflict
- Improving communication
- Developing greater intimacy
- Developing a better understanding of your partner and yourself
Couples sessions are usually fortnightly unless there are pressing issues and in that case, I would work more frequently with you for a few weeks. I believe, and it has been my experience, that most couple’s issues can be successfully worked through no matter how severe they may seem.
I draw extensively from the Gottman Institute and Sue Johnson’s work. I have a list of recommended readings that I am happy to share. Please feel free to email if you would like a copy.
Therapeutic approaches I work with include:
- Attachment Theory
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- Formative Psychology
- Transactional Analysis
- Tension and Trauma Release Exercises (TRE)
- Mindfulness and Mediation
My rates for individual work are £75 for 50 minutes, and for couples work £100 – £125 for 1 hr to 1hr and a half sessions.
