Mya Rose Campbell Integrative Therapist London E8Mya Rose Campbell:

Trainee Integrative Therapist (BACP student member)

Hi, my name is Mya Rose Campbell.

I am a trainee Integrative Therapist offering low-cost therapy and counselling at HQ Therapy Rooms in Dalston, Hackney, London E8.

When working with individuals, I am dedicated to exploring their experiences holistically, focusing on all areas of life that connect the person as a whole. I view therapy as a ‘way of being’, incorporating elements of mindfulness to bring a calm, empathic energy to my practice. I listen wholeheartedly and am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space that fosters
growth and change.

I deeply empathise with the challenges many of us face in the modern world, a time when basic living has become difficult. You may feel overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious, feelings of loneliness, or have lost your sense of direction under the pressures of everyday life.

In my practice, I am open, honest, and collaborative, working with you to raise your awareness and free yourself from the ‘blocks’ that hinder a life of purpose and meaning. Whether you are grappling with work, finances, relationships, self-esteem, depression, or general low mood, I offer a secure, safe, and consistent space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings.

I am currently studying for my BSc Counselling at the University of East London, having previously completed both Level 2 and Level 3 in Counselling Studies. I am a student member of
the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have been extensively trained in working pluralistically. This means drawing on a range of different modalities from Person Centred Counselling, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at any moment to suit whichever stage of your therapeutic journey you are currently at.

My areas of interest are raising awareness of unconscious patterns of behaviour that have persisted through life and manifest as problems in the here and now, often preventing us from living fully in the moment.

In 2022, I embarked on my own ‘transition’, a personal journey that has deepened my understanding of the ‘process of change’. This experience has ignited a passion within me to
support and empower those from marginalised backgrounds and the LGBTQIA+ community who often face issues around sexual orientation and sexual identity, gender identity issues and life transitions.

Having spent the past nine years working in salons and barbershops, I have worked with a diverse range of individuals from all walks of life; this provided me with a wealth of life
experience and allowed me to see the world from others’ perspectives. I spent years developing long-standing ‘therapeutic relationships’, focusing on finding ways to help people improve their daily well-being.

I offer a 15-minute introduction call to determine whether you would like to work with me; you can find me working face-to-face on weekend evenings at Dalston.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.

Can I Contact You For Advice About Getting Therapy?

It feels good to be listened to and to know that someone cares about you and wants to help. It is important that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and can build a trusting relationship to help you make positive changes in your life.
