Octavia Puckett:
Trainee Integrative Psychotherapist (BACP student member)
My name is Octavia Puckett (Ottie), I am a trainee psychotherapist completing my studies at Regent’s University. I am diligently working towards honing my skills and developing a profound understanding of the human psyche. My goal is to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of others, guiding them on a journey towards self-discovery and personal growth.
My journey into the field of psychotherapy began during my undergraduate years when I pursued a degree in Psychology at Newcastle University. It was here that I developed a deep fascination with the complexities of the human mind and the intricate interplay between thoughts, emotions, and behaviour.
My therapeutic approach is characterised by a client-centred and integrative perspective. I believe in the power of tailoring interventions to suit the unique needs of each individual.
Drawing from various therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic, humanistic, and person-centred approaches, I strive to create a collaborative and open space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a supportive environment.
As a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their Ethical Framework.
I am committed to providing and creating a safe, secure, confidential environment that is free from judgment and biases where I encourage and help clients to freely explore their thoughts and feelings. During the initial sessions, the focus will be on forging and building a connection, exploring what has brought my client to therapy, and learning more about life experiences.
In essence, I am not just a trainee psychotherapist; I am a dedicated companion on your journey to self-discovery and personal growth. My commitment to continuous learning and empathy forms the foundation of the supportive and transformative space that I aim to create for each client.
I have gained valuable experience volunteering for helplines for people who needed someone to talk to, whether it was for a conversation if they were feeling lonely, or for those who feel that their lives are not worth living. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, playing sports, and spending quality time with my loved ones and friends.
I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you on your journey and forge a therapeutic relationship that can help you explore and understand more about yourself. If you’re ready to get started and feel as though I could be the therapist to help you, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session.
