Sidika Tunc Humanistic Integrative Counsellor London E8Sidika Tunc:

Trainee Humanistic Integrative Counsellor (BACP student member)

My name is Sidika Tunc, and I am currently a student at the CPPD School of Counselling, where I am studying Humanistic and Integrative Counselling. My long-term goal is to become a qualified counsellor.

As part of my training, I work in the low-counselling service at HQ Therapy Rooms in Dalston, Hackney, London.

Life can present us with challenges that make it difficult to navigate independently. Reaching out for help can be daunting, but I believe that seeking support is a sign of strength.

I am here to provide you with a safe and confidential environment where you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Your therapeutic journey is entirely in your hands, and you get to determine the direction you want to take and the goals you want to achieve.

Together, we can work towards those goals and improve your overall well-being.

During our initial session, our main focus will be on establishing a connection and determining if we have a good rapport. It’s essential for us to feel comfortable and have a positive working relationship as we collaborate towards your goals.

My approach centres around creating a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. While drawing from various therapeutic approaches, such as person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), I tailor my approach to your unique needs. Together, we will find the most effective strategies to support you on your therapeutic journey.

Throughout my professional journey, the service sector has been my primary domain, providing me with valuable insights and an appreciation for diversity. My first-hand interactions with a wide range of individuals have taught me the importance of recognising and respecting different backgrounds, perspectives, and identities.

This understanding has shaped my approach and strengthened my commitment to inclusivity and embracing diversity in all aspects of my work.

I can offer assistance with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationships, self-esteem, anger management, trauma, spirituality, abuse, bullying, infertility, miscarriage, domestic violence, addiction, employment difficulties, age-related issues, and cultural matters.

I work with adults both face-to-face and online via Zoom, and I offer sessions in English and Turkish.

When you feel ready to pursue therapy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. We can schedule a telephone conversation to discuss your needs and what brings you to counselling.

The initial call typically lasts 15-20 minutes, allowing us to connect and gain an understanding of your situation. It also provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.
