Christina Argyropoulou Movement Psychotherapist Integrative E8

Christina Argyropoulou:

Movement Psychotherapist, Integrative

My name is Christina Argyropoulou, I am a movement psychotherapist, integrative and I offer therapy sessions at HQ Therapy Rooms in Hackney, London E8.

My approach:
In my work as a psychologist and psychotherapist, I bring together cognitive and somatic ways of working to provide effective treatment. I use a range of models, including psychodynamic and humanistic approaches, mindfulness, embodiment, and movement psychotherapy.

Movement psychotherapy combines verbal expression –known to most of us as talking therapy – with the non-verbal. Because of the fact that the nature of experience is sometimes far more complex and layered than words can describe and that body and mind are interrelated, this form of therapy encourages the individual to express and integrate what often is felt ineffably.

In a session, the body is involved in the therapy process. We will acknowledge that our bodies hold our stories, our intimate experiences, our feelings, and our keys to well being. By providing a safe, open and compassionate space, depending on what feels right in the moment. We might spontaneously and freely use movements and/or gestures. While talking, we mindfully attend to what is happening within the body, exploring deeper layers of our experience. No prior experience in movement/dance is needed.
