Person Centred counsellor
My name is Jacqueline Miller and I am a qualified Person Centred counsellor practicing from HQ Therapy Rooms here in Haggerston E8.
I am a caring and empathetic person who can offer a safe and non judgemental space for you to be seen and heard for who you truly are as an in individual.
My philosophy of counselling is drawn from a humanistic approach, respecting and encouraging your autonomy whilst we are working together.
During our first session, we are able to look at any challenges within your life that may have brought you to seek counselling and are causing you distress. This is an opportunity for you to get a sense of the way we would work together; you can ask me any questions you may have with no obligations.
Alongside working in private practice at HQ Therapy, I also have a practice in Harley Street, North West London and counsel students at City Lit in Holborn. I have gained my experience working in NHS surgeries and charity organisations offering both short term and extensive bereavement therapy.
Recently I have worked with survivors of the Grenfell Tower tragedy offering both individual and group support.
With a background of over 17 years in the NHS as a nurse, I understand the internal and external pressures people can put on themselves which can lead to unhelpful or damaging coping strategies. I am able to support you to identify healthier ways of managing thoughts and feelings.
I am registered member of the British Association for counselling and psychotherapy and adhere to their ethical framework.
