Mark Crow (BACP):
My name is Mark Crow and I’m a counsellor in private practice working from HQ Therapy in Haggerston, Hackney. I work from a Gestalt perspective, which is one of the humanistic therapies, and I integrate other approaches into my work such as Mindfulness and Person-Centred.
There may be many factors drawing you to therapy, or a single, persistent worry. You may feel stuck, reduced to a small part of your potential. We give names such as anxiety, loneliness, trauma, loss, depression, low self-esteem, relationship problems, to our experience, yet what we mean is also unique and personal.
More than anything else, therapy is a confidential, supportive space to talk about what’s troubling you, and to proceed step by step to a freer and more accepting state of mind.
As a Gestalt counsellor, I will listen and will work with you in the here-and-now. Gestalt is close in meaning to wholeness, and I will be interested in your totality as a person: thoughts, body, imagination, language, emotions. We will look at how you carry your personal history in the current moment and we will find creative ways to explore what is holding you back.
I work from the humanistic principle that we as humans are fundamentally designed to move towards health and balance. Therapy can help to free this innate wisdom.
Your choices and responsibility as an individual are paramount in our work together. I see therapy as a genuine encounter between people in the moment, resulting in a trusting relationship where new insights and choices can emerge.
Some of the issues I work with include: anxiety, depression, identity issues, sexuality, relationship problems and trauma.
I am a registered member of the BACP, bound by their ethics and guidelines, having gained Certificate and Diploma qualifications from the Gestalt Centre in London.
I charge £60 per initial consultation and per following 50-minute sessions.
