Vidushi Gupta Integrative Humanistic Counsellor LondonVidushi Gupta:

Integrative Humanistic Counsellor (MBACP)

Welcome — I’m Vidushi Gupta

I’m a BACP-registered counsellor with integrative humanistic training from CPPD. I bring not only professional expertise to the work I do, but also my lived experience.

I was born and raised in New York to South Asian immigrant parents, and after three decades in the US, I relocated to London in 2018. This transition deepened my self-awareness and sparked profound personal growth.

It also ignited my commitment to the therapeutic process while invigorating a desire to help others navigate their own journeys of transformation.

My therapeutic path is rooted in the belief that change is an inevitable part of life, yet it’s rarely simple. We all experience moments when life feels overwhelming, uncertain, or disconnected, and it’s in those moments that support can make all the difference.

I offer a grounded, compassionate space where you can explore your story, connect with your strengths, and move toward greater clarity, healing, and purpose.

What Therapy Can Offer:
Therapy is not just about resolving problems—it’s a space to discover (or rediscover) your voice and be accepted as your full self. It’s an opportunity to nurture self-compassion, explore your inner world, work through past and present struggles, and inspire change.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, carrying pain, facing current challenges, or simply longing for something more, therapy can support you in cultivating understanding, encouraging emotional resilience, and building a more connected relationship with yourself and others.

How I Work:
I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds. My approach is integrative and relational, drawing from humanistic, psychodynamic, and multicultural frameworks. What that means in practice is that I adapt my methods to suit you, not the other way around.

We’ll work collaboratively to explore your unique experiences with kindness and consideration, move at your pace, using tools and methods that resonate with you, and foster an environment together where you feel safe to grow and reflect.

I’m especially mindful of how culture, identity, and systemic influences shape one’s emotional landscape and how they impact one’s engagement with others. My work endeavours to be intersectional, sensitive, and inclusive.

This means we can gently and intentionally explore how different aspects of your identity, culture, race, gender, sexuality, class, and upbringing have and continue to shape your sense of self and experience in the world.

I’m currently deepening my knowledge in areas such as addiction, eating disorders, trauma, grief, multicultural identity, and neurodivergence—complex issues that deserve nuanced, empathetic attention. And no matter what you bring into the room, my aim is to hold space for you with care and integrity and meet you with authenticity and openness throughout our time together.

Let’s Begin:
Starting therapy can bring up uncertainty, and that’s perfectly natural. I offer a free, no-pressure 10-minute phone or online consultation so you can get a feel for how I work and ask any questions you might have before committing.

Wherever you are in your journey, know that it’s valid and you don’t have to walk it alone. If you’re ready to begin—or even just curious—I invite you to reach out and get in touch. You deserve to be seen, heard, and supported exactly as you are, and I look forward to hearing your story.

Availability and Fees:
I am available for short-term (8-12 sessions) or long-term/open-ended therapy. Sessions are 50 minutes in length, with a frequency to meet weekly. I am available for in-person sessions at HQ Therapy Rooms in Hackney, as well as online.

My standard fee is £75 per session. However, I do offer several places in my practice at a reduced rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.
