Will Adolphy Integrative Counsellor and Coach London E8Will Adolphy:

Integrative Counsellor & Coach (BACP)

Hi, I’m Will Adolphy, a qualified Counsellor and coach.

I’ve been supporting people and their mental health for the last 7 years. I started in schools supporting students and then I trained to be a therapist.

I see therapy as a springboard for deep transformation and spiritual growth. I was drawn to coaching as well because whilst talking is an essential part of the therapy process, I realised there will be no changes without action.

This is something I learned in my own personal journey towards wholeness. The action I took caused a huge ‘shift’ in how I was experiencing life. Knowing that it was possible to change ingrained patterns I felt invigorated to help others do the same.

My approach includes taking as much time as we need in ‘cleaning-up’ the past and eventually new patterns will start to emerge. And when this new path is unravelling, I am equipped to support you with my coaching qualification.

I’m drawn to the ‘bottom-up’ approaches like mindfulness and breath work. These approaches help us to step out of our rational minds and into our bodies.

‘There is no healing without feeling’ – a saying that rings very true to me.

The benefits of therapy:
You’ll have a space that you can show up to each week to check in and lean into whatever is coming up for you. This can unblock trapped energies, cause shifts in perspectives, and deepen your self-awareness.

The mindfulness helps us to learn the art of observing our experience without being so entrenched into the feelings. Developing this muscle of observation fosters resilience and allows feelings to be felt and pass through you. As they say:

“Therapy isn’t about feeling better, it’s about getting better at feeling.”

The part’s work will support you in exploring the various facets of your personality and can radically shift how you talk and relate to yourself. As we welcome each part of you to the space a more compassionate understanding of yourself can emerge.

I also use breathwork [if appropriate] and encourage an awareness of the breath to regulate and deepen our capacity to feel our feelings.

Ultimately my aim is to co-create a space with you where we can get you into the driving seat of your own life. From this seat, you will be evolving, rather than revolving. You will be living, rather than surviving.

I specialise in holding space for healing in these areas:

*12-step informed therapist (codependency, love addiction, romantic obsession, porn, attachment trauma)

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Seek Therapy?

Many people, new to this type of help, believe that they need to be suffering from “mental illness” or serious “psychological problems”, or be in crisis in order for therapy and counselling to be appropriate for them. This is a common misconception; anyone can benefit from therapy when it comes to helping you deal with your personal feelings and problems, make positive changes in your life, and understand yourself better.

So what is therapy and counselling? If you’re new to this world then the first steps can sometimes be the most difficult. Therapy can be a very effective treatment for a whole range of personal problems covering areas from physical and emotional problems, different types of behavioural disorders, through to human sexuality issues and a host of wellbeing and complementary therapy techniques.

Any problem you have that is causing you concern, anxiety or distress is a valid and appropriate reason to reach out and find a therapist and talk to them about it. Far from something to be ashamed of, acknowledging your vulnerability and asking for help is a sign of maturity and strength.

If you feel that you have a desire and are committed to making changes in your life in order to overcome your current problems and achieve more long-term satisfaction, psychological wellbeing and personal fulfilment, then you are ready to seek therapy. We are here to help you work through a wide range of therapy issues that might be troubling you.

Will Information About Me Be Safe & Secure?

It is quite normal to be hesitant when it comes to sharing private and intimate information about yourself with a stranger. You may fear that you will receive judgment from your therapist, or that your therapist will share your details with others.

HQ Therapy Rooms takes your privacy and confidentiality very seriously. Our therapists are required to keep everything said in therapy sessions between you, just like your doctor is required to keep your records private.

For therapy to be effective, there must be unconditional trust built between you and your therapist, and this relies on a shared understanding of confidentiality. It applies to the outside world as well: it is standard practice for therapists not to acknowledge their clients if they run into them outside of the therapy rooms in order to help protect their client’s confidentiality. Read our full privacy policy for more information.
